Electrical Engineer, Meta Neural Band

Meta Meta · Big Tech · Sunnyvale, CA +1

Electrical Engineer role focused on designing, developing, and integrating electrical systems for Meta's consumer hardware products. Responsibilities include schematic and board design, feasibility studies, supporting manufacturing, and troubleshooting. Requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years of experience, proficiency in design tools, and hands-on lab experience. Experience with various electrical subsystems and a willingness to learn and apply AI tools to workflows is mentioned.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, develop, and validate electrical subsystems or simple systems for Meta’s hardware products, with increasing independence
  2. Create schematics, direct board layout, and participate in design reviews
  3. Document requirements, specifications, and test criteria for modules and systems
  4. Conduct feasibility studies and analysis to evaluate new technologies and components
  5. Support manufacturing builds, hardware bring-up, and troubleshooting activities

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or relevant technical field, and/or equivalent practical experience
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical design or a relevant technical field
  • Proven knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals and circuit and/or system design
  • Experience with schematic and board design using industry-standard tools (e.g., Cadence OrCAD, Altium)
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment and debugging/automating hardware
  • Experience working with at least one of the following: digital signal processing, real-time image processing, display engineering, camera modules, mobile SoC/PMIC, or battery management systems
  • Experience with biosensor analog front-ends (PPG, EMG, ECG, IMU) including signal integrity, noise floor characterization, and sensor coexistence mitigation
  • Experience with hardware bring-up automation, stress rack / soak testing, and factory test development
  • Experience with flex PCB design, band/strap mechanical-electrical integration, and connector/contact reliability
  • Experience with mixed-signal SoC bring-up, sensor fusion, and firmware/HW co-debugging
  • Experience with low-power wireless subsystems (BLE, Wi-Fi) -- antenna integration, RF coexistence, and regulatory certification
  • Experience taking a consumer electronics product through the full NPI lifecycle (EVT/DVT/PVT/PROD) at high volume in mass production
  • Experience with PMIC architecture, battery/fuel-gauge integration, and ultra-low-power design for small form-factor consumer wearables

Nice to have

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and/or a related field
  • Experience working with Asia-based ODMs/CMs -- vendor management, in-region build support, and remote bring-up coordination
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)

What the JD emphasized

  • Experience with biosensor analog front-ends (PPG, EMG, ECG, IMU) including signal integrity, noise floor characterization, and sensor coexistence mitigation
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
