Electrical Field Engineer - Data Center

Electrical Field Engineer responsible for the on-site installation, quality assurance, and commissioning of critical electrical infrastructure for AI data center campus projects. This role acts as the technical bridge between design teams and construction partners, ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient installation of power distribution systems to meet AI workload demands.

What you'd actually do

  1. Support the on-site installation, quality assurance, functional checkout, testing, and commissioning of critical electrical infrastructure - including medium/low voltage switchgear, power transformers, switchboards, protection and control, UPS systems, and electrical equipment internal to the data center.
  2. Monitor the deployment of advanced power backup and conditioning systems, including medium voltage UPS, backup generators, and BESS.
  3. Support and direct involvement in substation protection system management
  4. Technical support for RFI process
  5. Technical support for temporary power and electrical switching

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in mission-critical environments supporting construction and/or operations.
  • Deep practical understanding of electrical power distribution equipment assembly and installation.
  • Hands-on experience with on site construction and partnering with third-party general contractors and electrical subcontractors.
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex field installation issues and implement practical, code-compliant solutions on the fly.

Nice to have

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License or EIT certification.
  • Direct experience overseeing the installation of high-density racks and their accompanying electrical infrastructure.
  • Mega Project construction experience in mission critical or heavy industry
  • Certifications such as PMP, OSHA 30, or equivalent safety credentials.
