Anduril Anduril · Defense · Waltham, MA · Mission Systems : Imaging Engineering : Imaging - Electrical Engineering

Electrical Harness Design Engineer at Anduril Industries, a defense technology company. The role involves designing, fabricating, and integrating harness systems for electro-optic and infrared systems, working closely with electrical and mechanical engineers. Responsibilities include selecting components, generating diagrams, participating in design reviews, and preparing assembly instructions. Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 5+ years of experience in designing electrical harnessing for rugged applications, with familiarity in common electrical bus interfaces and MIL-STD requirements. Experience with 3D CAD software is preferred. The company utilizes an AI-powered operating system and focuses on autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide the engineering expertise to design, fabricate and integrate harnesses systems and represent the harness discipline on projects
  2. Investigate, plan, design and develop harnesses to meet various technical requirements
  3. Research, select and procure appropriate connectors, back-shells, contacts, wire, shielding, and cable construction for the product to meet appropriate environmental requirements
  4. Work closely with fellow electrical & mechanical engineers to develop and generate harness system block diagrams and wire diagrams to release for production
  5. Participate in design reviews and provide input to identify issues and drive design choices
