Meta is seeking a data center Electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join their Data Center Facility Operations team. The role involves being the technical operations expert for electrical systems, responsible for procedure-based maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, training, and project oversight. The candidate needs a broad understanding of electrical systems and equipment, including low and medium voltage power distribution, protection and controls, UPS, battery systems, electrical testing, and relevant codes. Responsibilities include serving as an onsite technical resource, contributing to the electrical safety program, planning and approving work procedures, conducting hands-on troubleshooting and repairs, overseeing system configurations and upgrades, providing QAQC oversight, leading root-cause analysis, training staff, managing vendor relationships, and providing feedback on global strategies and designs. Qualifications include 7+ years of relevant electrical industry experience or a Bachelor's degree/trade certification with 3+ years of experience, with experience in critical environments and theoretical/practical understanding of power equipment and systems. Working knowledge of critical facility operations, mechanical, controls, and fire/life safety systems is required, along with experience interpreting blueprints and drawings. Experience in high voltage equipment, NETA/NICET certifications, field service engineering, data center industry experience, and instrumentation/control/power system experience are also mentioned. What you'd actually do

Required

  • 7+ years relevant electrical industry experience or electrical trade level experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or trade certification in related field plus 3+ years relevant electrical industry experience
  • Experience in critical environments
  • Theoretical and practical understanding of power equipment & systems, with expertise in electrical equipment design, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and/or construction
  • Working knowledge of critical facility operations with experience or understanding of procedure-based work
