What you'd actually do

  1. Design aircraft‑level EWIS schematics and select conductors, connectors, backshells, relays, switches, circuit‑breakers, and termination hardware per SAE AS‑50881 and IPC/WHMA‑A‑620.
  2. Apply EMI shielding and separation requirements throughout the design.
  3. Develop wiring layouts using ECAD tools (e.g., Mentor Graphics Capital Harness, Zuken, or equivalents).
  4. Coordinate with harness‑fabrication shops to verify manufacturability and quality.
  5. Perform independent design work under general supervision and contribute to multidisciplinary team reviews.
