Supervises the development and integration of electrical and electronic systems for global automotive programs, including Gas/Hybrid and EV vehicles. Responsibilities include leading design, schematics development, FMEA, compatibility reviews, prototype builds, troubleshooting, and team development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the development of Vehicle Electrical Systems thru Technical Design Review gateways.
  2. Coordinate the design and development of program specific electrical system schematics
  3. Support electrical device transmittal process: VSEM GDT Set-up, DT Approvals, Create DT Status Report
  4. Lead the team in the development of program specific system FMEA and DV
  5. Lead a team to perform compatibility reviews to verify all module and wiring interfaces

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Electrical Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science preferred)
  • 6+ years of automotive engineering experience with 2 years supporting vehicle production and launch activities
  • 2 years of experience root cause analysis and authoring well-documented 8D reports
  • 2 years of CAN-based trouble shooting

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of computer programming literacy with a fundamental understanding of problem-solving, code comprehension, technical documentation, debugging and testing, and algorithmic thinking
  • Excellent team leader skills
  • Broad interpersonal skills allowing a wide range of interface with vehicle product development / subsystems engineers, cross-functional teams, and suppliers
  • Team facilitator and coaching skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Relationships with other departments such as Plant Launch Team, Electronic Module Owners
  • Demonstrated ability at balancing and prioritizing workload
  • Candidates must be able to work under operational pressures and be able to set priorities for themselves and the team
  • Prior responsibility for successful program implementation and verification of electrical and electronic systems/features
