Electrical Technical Operations Manager

Manages all electrical and maintenance aspects for a company's fleet and island, overseeing departmental budgets, compliance with regulations, maintenance systems, vendor management, and ensuring continuous availability of electrical systems, machinery alarm and control systems, navigation equipment, and telecommunication systems. Responsibilities include implementing safety management systems, coordinating with various marine and technical operations, and providing technical support to different departments.

What you'd actually do

  1. Assists with departmental budgets for areas of responsibilities.
  2. Liaison with USCG, classification societies,, and USPH for areas of responsibility.
  3. Oversees compliance with technical aspects of applicable Flag State, Port State, international, and classification society resolutions and requirements, including CSM.
  4. Oversees maintenance of specified ships and private resorts and proper documentation in company-approved maintenance system.
  5. Provides the continuous availability ashore for shipboard support for Electrical Systems, Machinery Alarm and Control Systems, Navigation Equipment and Telecommunication Systems.

Required

  • sea‑going operations and/or ship management within marine or industrial engineering
  • Hazardous areas installations and operations
  • electrical distribution, control systems, and automation including maintenance practices
  • interpreting and applying Flag State, Port State, classification society, and international maritime regulations
  • manage vendors, contractors, and technical teams
  • troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for shipboard electrical, navigation, and telecommunication systems
  • communication skills with ability to interface with shipboard and shoreside stakeholders
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed, including supporting dry‑docks and vessel inspections
  • Proficiency with maintenance management systems (e.g., CMMS)
  • Strong documentation and compliance reporting skills
  • Relevant Electrical Engineering Degree; or equivalent working experience

  • Demonstrated experience working within the cruise industry
  • Professional training in maritime Regulations
