Electrician responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment on vessels, including troubleshooting, testing, and adhering to safety protocols. Requires strong electrical aptitude, ability to interpret blueprints and schematics, and experience with various voltages and motor/transformer connections. Also involves training junior electricians and collaborating with other trades in a fast-paced production environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Ensure proper operation of electrical systems by using tools, gauges, meters, and testing equipment
  2. Read, interpret, and follow blueprints and sketches to understand the specifications of a project
  3. Read and interpret electrical schematics, one-lines, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
  4. Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment on vessels
  5. Troubleshoot electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters
