Electro Optics Reliability Engineer

NVIDIA is seeking an Electro Optics Reliability Engineer to join their product engineering team in Israel. The role involves designing, verifying, and leading a team focused on next-generation electro-optical devices for high-speed data center communication. Responsibilities include characterizing and performing reliability tests on electro-optical components, building and operating test setups, and working in a sophisticated engineering environment. A BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field is required, along with experience in reliability testing of semiconductor lasers and photodetectors for fiber optic communication.

What you'd actually do

  1. The selected candidate will be characterizing and performing tests of reliability of electro-optical components.
  2. This job allows you to work in a sophisticated, exciting engineering environment supporting the development of future components and exploring new technologies.
  3. The task will include building and operating test setups with optical fibers, lasers, optics and electronics.

Skills

Required

  • BSc or MSc degree in Electrical Engineering/ Physics/ related degree in engineering or electro-optics fields
  • Ability to work in a team with varied strengths, strong social skills and a real passion for working as a team

Nice to have

  • 3 years of experience in reliability testing of semiconductors lasers and photodetectors for fiber optic communication
  • Familiar with electro-optical and high-speed lab environment (optical table, light coupling, fibers and probe station).
  • Operating laboratory equipment such as high-speed scopes, signal generators and calibration of testing tools.
  • Knowledge in reliability of electro-optics devices including laser diodes and photo diodes, SiPh.
  • Programming skills in MATLAB/ Python.
  • Proficient in English.
