Electromagnetic Effects Design and Analysis Engineers (associate, Experienced and Expert)

Boeing Boeing · Aerospace · Everett, WA +1

Boeing is seeking Electromagnetic Effects Design and Analysis Engineers to develop and validate E3 requirements and architectures for aircraft integration. Responsibilities include performing trade studies, modeling, simulation, and analysis to predict component and system performance, ensuring electromagnetic compatibility, and interfacing with manufacturing and suppliers. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or science field and familiarity with electromagnetic concepts. Experience with defense or aerospace industries and specific EMI/EMC standards is preferred. A U.S. Security Clearance is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform trade studies, modeling, simulation, and other analyses to predict component, interconnect, and system performance and to optimize designs for E3 performance.
  2. Work (with minimal direction at higher levels) to achieve electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of electronics, wiring, and structure.
  3. Interface with manufacturing and suppliers on complex E3 design aspects to assure system-level compatibility; identify and report achievements and issues to program management and customers.
  4. Review supplier test plans and test reports for technical correctness; identify deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions.
  5. Support project management by contributing to development of work statements, budgets, schedules, and design/review inputs.

  • 2 or more years of related experience
  • Familiarity with electromagnetic concepts such as RF isolation, shielding, grounding, and filtering.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% as required.

Nice to have

  • Experience (Level 3): 5+ years related work experience.
  • Expert (Level 4): 7+ years related work experience.
  • ABET-accredited Bachelor’s in electrical engineering or an advanced degree (M.S./Ph.D.) in electrical engineering preferred.
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance preferred.
  • Prior experience in defense or aerospace industries.
  • Experience with MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, and/or DO-160 EMI/EMC standards.
