Electromechanical Engineer Level 3 at Northrop Grumman supporting the design, development, fabrication, integration, and testing of space-qualified RF and EO sensor hardware. What you'd actually do

  1. Support mechanical design activities for antenna and sensor subassemblies using 3D CAD tools such as Creo or Siemens NX.
  2. Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks; support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis during integration and testing
  3. Assist in performing mechanical analyses, tolerance stack-ups, and prepare engineering drawings for space hardware.
  4. Contribute to documentation and technical reports to comply with aerospace industry and program requirements.
  5. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, thermal, and manufacturing engineering to meet interface and program objectives.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5 years of experience, a master’s degree with 3 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical fields
  • U.S Citizenship is required
  • No clearance required to start, but must have the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
  • Working knowledge of materials, specifications, manufacturing processes and design tools utilized for antenna panel and supporting electronics assemblies
  • Proficient with 3D CAD tools (AutoCAD, Creo, or Siemens NX)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently without appreciable direction, setting and meeting technical goals aligned with program objectives
  • Skilled in presenting complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and collaborating across disciplines and programs

Nice to have

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph preferred
  • Proficiency with ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.100 engineering drawing practices
  • Familiarity with thermal and structural analysis considerations, methodologies, and software tools
  • Experience with classified satellite and/or payload programs or large-scale space sensor development
  • Familiarity with PWB mechanical integration and surface-mount technology processes
