Johnson & Johnson is seeking an Electronic Instrumentation Technician in Anasco, Puerto Rico. The role involves testing and calibrating electrical, mechanical, and electronic instruments and equipment to ensure conformance to standards. Responsibilities include planning calibration procedures, setting up test equipment, inspecting components, maintaining calibration records, coordinating with external labs, and performing equipment performance profiles. Requires a Technical Degree with 5 years of experience or a Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of experience in a related field, and bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.

What you'd actually do

  1. Plans sequence of testing and calibration procedures for instruments and equipment. Coordinates calibration schedules with equipment owners. Develops and updates calibration procedures for equipment and instruments to be included in the calibration program.
  2. Sets up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate and calibrate other instruments and test equipment.
  3. Disassembles instruments and equipment, using hand-tools and inspects components for defects. Measures parts for conformity with specifications, using micrometers, calipers and other precision instruments. Aligns and balances component parts and circuitry.
  4. Keeps the calibration computer system updated regarding instruments status. Files and records all calibration records.
  5. Contacts external calibration laboratories to make the necessary arrangements to comply with the requirements under the calibration records.

Skills

Required

  • Technical Degree in Industrial Instrumentation, Electronics or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in a technical field
  • 5 years of experience in calibration/instrumentation (with Technical Degree) OR 3 years of experience (with Bachelor's Degree)
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) fluency
  • Availability to work overtime, various work schedules, including weekends and holidays
