Boeing is seeking an Electronic Technician specializing in Precision Machine Tool Maintenance to install, maintain, and troubleshoot electronic and electrical systems in precision machine tools. Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving issues, writing programs for maintenance, developing test programs, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The role requires collaboration with other teams and maintaining accurate records.

What you'd actually do

  1. Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and rework electronic and associated electrical systems of precision machine tools and other manufacturing equipment, ensuring compliance with original equipment manufacturer specifications.
  2. Troubleshoot communication protocols to facilitate the transmission and receipt of information between various machine tool and production systems.
  3. Utilize open computing architecture to diagnose issues in integrated machine tool and production systems, determining appropriate repair actions.
  4. Write and edit programs to support maintenance activities, including alignments and ballbars, using knowledge of high-level programming languages.
  5. Develop test programs and loops to troubleshoot equipment movement for repeatability and accuracy.

Skills

Required

  • 3+ years of electronic/electrical experience in machine tool maintenance, industrial electronic and/or electrical maintenance field, or military electronic/electrical system maintenance.
  • 1+ years' experience troubleshooting programmable logic controllers (PLC) OR Functionally Equivalent Control Systems
  • Knowledge of high-level programming languages
  • Understanding of electronic theory, computer and networking architecture, microprocessors, and discrete components
  • Experience using computing systems and test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, meters, laser interferometers, ballbars)
  • Experience maintaining and utilizing schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, technical documents
  • Experience troubleshooting electronic control devices, spindle systems, sensors, servo systems, PID loops, transducers, feedback technologies, magnetic devices, and electrostatic discharge systems.
  • Experience repairing digital electronics, serial/parallel bus transmission systems, high-frequency circuitry, analog devices, and printed circuit boards.

Nice to have

  • Experience with software programming languages (e.g., Boolean, ladder, C+, C++)
  • Experience with numbering systems (binary, octal, hexadecimal)
