What you'd actually do

  1. Establish simulation requirements for hardware in the loop platforms.
  2. Select off-the-shelf or design interface hardware to simulate space vehicle components (actuators, sensors, and payloads).
  3. Develop simulation software models and software interfaces to simulation hardware cards, including digital, analog, serial, and SpaceWire.
  4. Define simulation testbed harnessing based on the space vehicle flight harness and simulation requirements.
  5. Interface with hardware engineers in the design, build, and test of the simulation platforms.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, or another related STEM discipline
  • 5 years of embedded software experience (Level 3) or 8 years (Level 4)
  • C/C++
  • Python
  • Windows/Linux scripting
  • Software revision control tools (Subversion, Git)
  • Waterfall, spiral and/or Agile software development processes
  • Continuous integration

Nice to have

  • Active/Current TS/SCI
  • System knowledge in Spacecraft Command & Control
  • System knowledge in Mission Planning
