Embedded Software Engineer – Level 3 or 4

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer (Level 3 or 4) to develop embedded software modules for space flight software platforms supporting national security programs. The role involves interacting with hardware protocols, developing board support packages, integrating software, and analyzing system resources. A TS/SCI clearance is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop embedded software modules that can interact directly with hardware protocols and interfaces including UART, Synchronous Serial, MIL-STD-1553, SPACEWIRE, SPI, discrete digital and analog IO.
  2. Work with other disciplines to establish Flight-Software requirements, testing and verification plan.
  3. Develop and configure board support packages (BSPs) and integrate device drivers.
  4. Performs trade studies via computer simulation or kits & development boards.
  5. Work with multiple engineers to integrate spacecraft components and flight software with the simulation platform.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace/Electrical/Computer/Software Engineering or related STEM field
  • Python/Linux/Git experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience collaborating within an integrated team
  • Experience working with Docker containers and Helm charts
  • Experience with Kubernetes (K8s)/Docker
  • Experience with AWS
  • Experience with Gitlab workflows
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
