This role is for an Employee Payments Analyst (Payroll Specialist) at Ford, responsible for accurate and timely employee compensation, managing payroll functions, calculating paychecks, withholding taxes, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with regulations and UAW pay rules. The role involves processing and validating time and pay, understanding end-to-end payroll processes, data management, and addressing employee queries. Key responsibilities include processing payroll according to guidelines, auditing payroll runs, executing payroll using Oracle Cloud, reviewing variance analysis, assisting with year-end W-2 processes, and collaborating with HR and external partners. The position also supports initiatives related to tax compliance and the launch of a new payroll system (Oracle Cloud).

What you'd actually do

  1. Process payroll in adherence with federal, state, and regional pay guidelines (including UAW CBA), while ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time
  2. Utilizing and understanding how to follow detailed Payroll Runbook, assist in auditing payroll runs, including key pre-validations of data
  3. Execution of payroll runs and other processes using Oracle Cloud Payroll System
  4. After each pay period, review the variance analysis for earnings, tax deductions (i.e. FICA, Federal, State of Employment, State of Residency, Hypo Taxes, etc.), and other elements of paycheck and prepare an explanation of variance if needed
  5. Unearned wages that are repaid, working in collaboration with other functional teams (the Earnings team within Payroll, Cash Application team, and Receivables team).

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience processing and/or calculating payroll in a multi-state environments
  • Familiar with payroll software and/or systems, including Oracle Cloud or a similar payroll system

Nice to have

  • Familiar with timekeeping software and/or systems
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
