Employment Counsel

Seeking an Employment Counsel to partner with the People team and stakeholders to build and manage employment programs. Responsibilities include advising on US legal matters, implementing compliant programs, crafting policies, mitigating legal risks, and managing outside counsel. Requires a JD, active bar membership, and substantial employment law experience, with a blend of law firm and in-house experience.

What you'd actually do

  1. Advise the People team and managers on a wide range of U.S. legal matters, including compensation, benefits, performance management, leaves of absences, and contingent worker issues
  2. Implement and manage compliant employment programs to create a culture of high performance, and alignment to Anthropic’s values and People philosophy
  3. Craft clear and comprehensive written guidance, policies, and communications that effectively translate complex employment law concepts into actionable frameworks for technical and business stakeholders across the organization
  4. Leverage your experience to proactively identify and mitigate employment legal risks
  5. Stay up to date on relevant employment laws, regulations, industry trends, and disseminate to key stakeholders these developments and their implications to Anthropic’s mission and business
