Emulation Engineer

Intel Intel · Semiconductors · Bangalore, India

This role focuses on building and optimizing emulation and FPGA models for Intel's silicon prototyping and validation efforts. The engineer will work on translating RTL designs into working prototypes, developing hardware/software collateral, and improving emulation usability and efficiency to accelerate the development process for chipsets. The role involves collaboration with design, validation, and software teams to enable pre-silicon verification and software development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build emulation and FPGA models using synthesis, partitioning, and routing tools to translate RTL designs into working prototypes.
  2. Develop, integrate, test, and debug hardware/software collateral to support emulation, including hybrid environments combining virtual platforms and FPGA/emulation models.
  3. Define and deliver new capabilities and tools to improve emulation usability, efficiency, and validation coverage.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable pre-silicon verification and software development through optimized emulation platforms.
  5. Debug RTL tests and troubleshoot emulator/FPGA environment issues to ensure usability and reliability.
