Energy Analyst, Portfolio

Meta Meta · Big Tech · Austin, TX +2

This role focuses on energy procurement, utility interconnection, and energy strategy for Meta's data centers. Responsibilities include analyzing energy markets, evaluating utility rates, developing financial models for energy costs and expenditures, supporting contract negotiations, tracking energy consumption and costs, and monitoring regulatory developments. The role also involves evaluating clean energy procurement opportunities and coordinating with utilities and internal finance partners. While the role mentions AI tooling and skill development, its core function is in energy analysis and procurement, not AI/ML model development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Analyze energy market data, utility tariffs, and rate structures to support procurement decisions for data center energy supply
  2. Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate energy costs, forecast capital and operational expenditures, and assess the economics of utility interconnection options
  3. Support the negotiation and execution of power purchase agreements, utility service agreements, and energy interconnection contracts
  4. Track and report on energy consumption, billing accuracy, and cost variance across the data center portfolio
  5. Collaborate with real estate, construction, and data center operations teams to align energy procurement timelines with infrastructure development milestones
