This role is for an Engineer in Supply Chain Engineering, specifically Manufacturing Engineering, at Johnson & Johnson Vision. The primary focus is on providing technical support for operations, including troubleshooting PLCs, Vision Systems, Robots, Servers, and HMIs. What you'd actually do

  1. Provides technical support to operations by participating in troubleshooting activities for PLC, Vision Systems, Robots, Servers, and HMI’s
  2. Lead or participate in small code or program modifications for assigned control systems.
  3. Plans and executes moderately complex change control projects requiring conceptual evaluation, design and validation.
  4. Plans and execute moderately complex qualifications of new equipment/controls and assists in vendor and site acceptance testing to meet engineering standards.
  5. Identifies and implements standard methodologies of project management.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or computer science
  • 2 to 4 years of experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work in an empowered work team environment
  • Ability to write simple code modifications for industrial control systems with minimal supervision.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with industrial control systems, such as Allen-Bradley and Siemens.
  • Proficient in applications including FactoryTalk, Wonderware, AB Studio 5000, Power BI, and Ignition.
  • Knowledgeable in industrial programming languages, including Ladder Logic, Python, Structured Text, and Function Block Diagram.
  • Experience in programming and configuring motion devices, including servos and robotic arms.
  • Proficient in creating and configuring inspection jobs for machine vision systems used in industrial settings.
  • Background in supporting manufacturing operations with a focus on industrial controls and software.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics effectively.
  • Experience working with vendors to select, source, quote, and procure off the shelf and custom designed components.
  • Experience working in an ISO and FDA regulated environment.
