Engineer - Automation

This role is for an Automation Engineer at Eli Lilly's new manufacturing site in Concord, NC. The engineer will be responsible for automation design, managing system integrators, supporting corporate initiatives like lifecycle management and cybersecurity, and driving automation governance. The role involves evaluating new technologies and innovation trends for application within Lilly.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide automation design and oversight to the delivery of Lilly's new Concord facility.
  2. Manage system integrators to deliver all aspects of Automation for Lilly's new Concord based facility.
  3. Support key corporate initiatives such as life cycle management, Engineering information management, and cyber security
  4. Evaluate new technology and innovation trends leading to the development of proof of concepts and sharing of use cases for application within Lilly.
  5. Drive automation governance and replication across the Global Parenteral Network and the Global Packaging Network for Tier 1 equipment, architecture, and Automation/IT systems and solutions.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in automation machine control, process control, or equivalent work experience in a related field
  • Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice to have

  • Demonstrated ability to work safely
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more automation platforms, preferable Rockwell Automation Systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Rockwell FactoryTalk Batch software.
  • Demonstrated expertise in robotic and conveyor systems preferably FANUC and/or Staubli Robots.
  • Significant experience and strong problem-solving skills in measurements, control (process and/or manufacturing), control systems, integration, and data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to manage people and projects to deliver a common set of objectives
  • Knowledge of GMP’s and pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Operating Systems,
  • Knowledge in Databases
