John Deere is seeking an Engineer, Crawler Electrical to lead the design and development of electrical systems, components, and wiring harnesses for Crawler equipment. This role owns electrical deliverables throughout the full product lifecycle, partnering cross-functionally with mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and product teams. The engineer will support the Product Delivery Process, conduct competitive benchmarking, develop design standards, and troubleshoot electrical system issues.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the design and development of electrical systems, components, and wiring harnesses for Crawler equipment
  2. Own electrical deliverables throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept through production launch
  3. Partner cross-functionally with mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and product teams to support new vehicle programs
  4. Support the Product Delivery Process (PDP) to ensure successful execution and on-time launch of new products
  5. Conduct competitive benchmarking and vehicle specification development to drive continuous product improvement

Skills

Required

  • Foundational knowledge of electrical systems and components
  • Experience with CAD or 3D modeling tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate within cross-functional teams
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%

Nice to have

  • Exposure to electrical systems in mobile equipment, automotive, or industrial applications
  • Experience or familiarity with wiring harnesses, schematics, or electrical integration
  • Experience with tools such as Creo, ProCable, or Mentor Graphics Capital Harness
  • Understanding of electrical components, suppliers, or manufacturing processes
