Engineer, Dsm (dex)

John Deere John Deere · Industrial · Dubuque, IA +1 · Product Engineering (CA)

This role focuses on developing physics-based simulation models for vehicle performance testing and product design decisions within the Construction & Forestry Division. It involves integrating and improving common library toolsets and collaborating with product design teams to identify continuous improvement opportunities. The role requires a fundamental understanding of physical systems, mathematics, and basic control theory, hydraulics, powertrain, and/or structural linkages, with experience in MATLAB, Simulink, and Simscape being a plus.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide modeling support to a single product line and auxiliary support to other product-lines, as required
  2. You will identify and advocate for early design integration, delivering the right virtual model with the right fidelity at the right time.
  3. Collaborate with construction DSM analysts to integrate and improve common library toolsets, workflows, and processes.
  4. Lead the development of physics-based simulation models to support virtual full-vehicle performance testing and product design decisions
  5. Collaborate with product design teams to define continuous improvement opportunities, expand virtual test capability, and correlate simulation with physical test results
