Northrop Grumman is seeking a Hardware Engineer (Level 2) to join their Manufacturing Engineering team in San Diego, CA. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing testing methods and equipment, troubleshooting RF and digital hardware, analyzing test data, and collaborating with design engineering. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field, experience with RF test equipment, and the ability to obtain a US Secret clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment
  2. Troubleshoot and support RF and digital hardware
  3. Support First Time Through Test Yield (FTTTY) and hardware deliveries
  4. Analyze test data and identify early trends
  5. Compile data and define changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field
  • Experience reading and interpreting specifications, schematics and block diagrams
  • Experience with RF test equipment such as an oscilloscope, power meter, spectrum analyzer, and signal generators
  • Experience with RF/Digital hardware and software
  • Basic Understanding of VHDL Concepts & Programming
  • Hands-on troubleshooting of electrical/electro-mechanical hardware
  • US Citizenship

Nice to have

  • U.S. Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience with FPGAs, VHDL programming, advanced troubleshooting techniques
  • Education Background in Electrical or Software Engineering
  • Familiarity with Manufacturing Operations
  • Familiarity with the Agile process
  • LABVIEW or TestStand Experience
