Engineer I - Laboratory Automation

The Laboratory Automation Engineer will be responsible for the innovation, development, validation, and implementation of new methodologies to improve laboratory processes. This includes designing and implementing new processes, developing protocols for liquid handlers, performing experimentation, investigating non-conformances, and ensuring successful technology transfer. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Automation, Biology or a related discipline, and 3+ years of experience in a physical automation or adjacent role.

What you'd actually do

  1. Function in a highly collaborative and autonomous team designing and implementing new processes and improvements to existing processes.
  2. Develop bespoke protocols or methods for Tecan liquid handlers using Tecan FluentControl and other lab automation equipment in cooperation with R&D staff
  3. Perform experimentation to test and validate new methodologies.
  4. Investigate non-conformances through RCA and DMAIC, perform/recommend corrective and preventive actions
  5. Ensure successful technology transfer via process engineering input through the design process for requirements and PQ testing

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Automation, Biology or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3+ years experience in a physical automation or adjacent role
