Industrial Engineer / Principal Industrial Engineer role focused on developing production schedules, supporting manufacturing floors, implementing cost-saving solutions using continuous improvement tools, analyzing shop floor practices, and generating efficiency metrics. Requires a STEM degree, a Secret clearance, and proficiency in MS Project, Excel, and/or PowerPoint. The role may be filled at either the Base or Principal level.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and iterate on detail production build schedules by working closely with Development and Production Operations
  2. Provide support to the manufacturing floor by working proactively with cross-functional teams to understand frontline problems and implement cost-saving solutions.
  3. Utilize various Continuous Improvement tools to analyze shop floor practices and processes for opportunities to minimize waste, reduce cost, increase capacity and optimize schedule.
  4. Work with frontline leadership to assess current state reality and define future state possibilities
  5. Provide tactics and training to frontline leaders and shop floor personnel to improve the current state and facilitate value generation

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline
  • 2 years of related professional/military experience (for Base level)
  • 5 years of related professional/military experience (for Principal level)
  • Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline
  • 0 years of related professional/military experience (for Base level with Master's)
  • 3 years of related professional/military experience (for Principal level with Master's)
  • STEM Ph.D.
  • 0 years of related professional/military experience (for Base level with Ph.D.)
  • 1 years of related professional/military experience (for Principal level with Ph.D.)
  • Active U.S. Government Secret (or higher) clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
