Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their Rocket Motor Case Engineering team. The role involves designing and qualifying manufacturing processes, supporting root cause analysis, implementing process controls for improved manufacturability, and troubleshooting existing processes. The engineer will also develop work instructions, coordinate with production, evaluate discrepant hardware, analyze processing data, and maintain manufacturing bill of materials. Experience in a production manufacturing environment and knowledge of Statistical Process Control are required. Experience with aerospace specifications, insulation/rubber processes, hardware installation, and adhesive/bonding processes are preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design and qualify simple to moderately complex processes to support manufacturing needs
  2. Support RCCA and manufacturing anomaly discussions for investigations
  3. Implement input parameter controls to improve product manufacturability and consistency
  4. Develop consistent continuous improvement process around manufacturability
  5. Provide support of manufacturing personnel for a variety of manufacturing processes
