Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mission Assurance Engineer (Level 2 or 3) to support mission assurance staff and implement quality assurance program plans for flight and development hardware programs. The role involves ensuring design, manufacturing, integration, and test activities meet company and contractual requirements, interfacing with customers and suppliers, and ensuring AS9100D compliance. Responsibilities include supplier quality risk management, product and process verification, root cause corrective action analysis, and supporting various program reviews.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide Mission Assurance oversight of supplier processes, throughput, and deliverables.
  2. Own Supplier Quality risk management activities; develop and implement supplier quality evaluation and control systems.
  3. Assure supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance; interface directly with supplier personnel to assess both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures.
  4. Conduct product and process verification activities, monitor supplier quality performance, and drive root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues.
  5. Support maintenance of the approved supplier list; periodically review supplier performance to determine continued approval and manage supplier requests for waivers, deviations, and discrepancy reporting.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years of relative Quality / Mission Assurance Engineering experience (for Level 2) or 5 years (for Level 3), or Master's degree with 0 years (for Level 2) or 3 years (for Level 3), or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Knowledge base in root cause analysis tools such as Ishikawa, FMEA, DOE, 8D, 5 Why, etc.
  • Ability to read engineering documentation and inspect drawings and parts lists, inspection plans, and supplemental instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance.
