Northrop Grumman is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer or Principal Structural Analysis Engineer to analyze, research, and develop structural engineering specifications for aircraft structures. The role involves providing stress MRB dispositions, reviewing analyses and designs, coordinating with other disciplines, and developing solutions to complex problems in a production environment. Experience with metals, non-metallic, or composite structural materials, and tools like NX CAD, Femap, and Nastran is required. A Secret clearance is mandatory.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provides stress MRB dispositions for primary and secondary structure.
  2. Review of completed analyses, drawings, and repairs for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
  3. Coordination and clear communication with other disciplines during the development of design solutions.
  4. Concise presentation and explanation of structural issues/solutions to internal management and customer representatives.
  5. Maintains and improves part designs, equipment, and systems in support of production deliveries

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)
  • Secret Clearance
  • Experience in Bonded Composite Structural Analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures.
  • Experience in Structural Analysis Methods and documentation, including hand-sheet analysis, as well as the development and manipulation of large Finite Element Models

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering
  • 5 years or more Aerospace structural analysis experience using NASTRAN, PATRAN, or FEMAP.
  • Experience working on Special Access Programs
  • Experience working on military aircraft
  • Current in-scope DoD Secret or Top Secret Clearance
  • Experience performing DADT analysis
  • Analysis experience in a MRB role
