Northrop Grumman is seeking a Structural Engineer or Principal Structural Engineer to conduct stress analyses on mechanical systems such as doors and locking mechanisms. The role involves static and durability analysis using Freebody and FEM methods, requiring experience with classical hand calculations and Finite Element Model manipulation. A Bachelor's degree in STEM and relevant experience are required, along with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. We are looking for an Engineer who can conduct stress analyses on mechanical systems such as mechanically and hydraulicly driven doors as well as their associated locking mechanisms.
  2. The candidate should be well versed in various methods of static analysis including, section checks, lug checks, joint strength and column stability.
  3. They should also have a strong understanding of durability analysis and internal load development of mechanisms including both Freebody and FEM methods.
