Engineer Systems Level 2/3

Northrop Grumman Northrop Grumman · Aerospace · Rocket Center, WV +1 · Systems/Architecture/Test

Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman focusing on requirements management, reliability analysis, and systems safety analysis for rocket motor propulsion systems. The role involves technical planning, system integration, verification, validation, cost, and risk analysis throughout the product lifecycle, from concept to disposal. Responsibilities include translating customer requirements into system solutions, managing requirements sets, presenting to customers, and collaborating with design and test teams. Experience with DOORS and potentially MBSE tools is preferred. Requires a STEM degree and the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, reliability and system safety analysis of rocket motor propulsion systems.
  2. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  3. Presenting to customers on the capabilities of current products, performance analyses, design information, and requirements verification methods.
  4. Generating, reviewing, and managing multiple requirements sets that cover all aspects of both performance and nonperformance including mechanical interfaces, electrical interfaces, data requirements, environmental requirements, reliability, and systems safety.
  5. Working with integration and test engineers to ensure all requirements are verified through inspection, analysis, demonstration, or test often by providing test and data reduction inputs.
