Northrop Grumman is seeking a Tooling Engineer (Level 2) in Rocket Center, WV, to coordinate design and fabrication of tools and fixtures, perform tolerance analysis, conduct failure investigations, develop process improvements, and assist with new product designs to ensure manufacturability. The role involves managing projects from design to validation, interfacing with customers and manufacturing teams, and understanding cost and schedule.

What you'd actually do

  1. Coordination of design and fabrication requirements for tools and fixtures with customers, both internal and external
  2. Performing tolerance analysis to ensure form/fit/function
  3. Conduct root cause failure investigations and implement associated corrective actions
  4. Develop & evaluate process improvements
  5. Assist Product Development Team with new product designs to ensure manufacturability, validate process/technology.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s STEM Degree with 2 years of experience OR a Master's STEM Degree with 0 years of experience
  • medium to large scale tooling fabrication and/or production fabrication including composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production manufacturing operations
  • Manufacturing Methods
  • Project Management
  • Computer Aided Design Tools
  • Engineering Drawings & Specs

Nice to have

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Direct Aerospace Tooling experience
  • Direct Experience with NX or some CAD
