Engineering Analyst, Trust and Safety, Egregious Harms

This role focuses on identifying and combating egregious online harms across Google products by leveraging technical acumen and data analysis. The analyst will partner with Product, Engineering, Policy, and Legal teams to design and develop solutions for detecting and enforcing against abuse. Key responsibilities include performing data analyses, identifying improvements for detection and enforcement systems, leading projects, and analyzing the performance of technical models like ML systems and LLMs.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform data analyses to derive insights that help identify emerging threats and fight abuse across our products.
  2. Identify opportunities for the improvement of Google’s detection and enforcement systems as well as for automation.
  3. Lead multiple interdependent projects of moderate to high complexity and scope. Work cross-functionally to ensure coordination and alignment on objectives and key results.
  4. Analyze statistics (e.g., precision, recall) about the performance of technical models (ML systems, classifiers, LLMs) and recognize nuanced, easily missed problems in the performance of these systems.
  5. Review or be exposed to sensitive or graphic content as part of core role.
