Role Definition As a Checking Engineer, one will check moderately complex design & drawings for completeness, accuracy, and conformance to established Engineering Standards and practices.
Responsibilities
- Review design layouts/3D models that graphically show how the product is to function.
- Check assembly and piece part drawings that further break down the consist of the product definition
- Collaborate with Engineering Design Team
- Ensure Engineering notices are filled out properly and that they convey all necessary information for downstream processing
- Confer with design personnel to answer the questions pertaining to engineering practices and standards
- Provide counsel and advice to design control personnel on potential problems during design review phase
- Keep abreast of changes that are made to Corporate Product and Process Standards.
Degree Requirement Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Mechanical Engineering curriculum
- 4 to 7 years Engineering experience
- Familiarity with Creo 7.0 or later version for detailing/modelling practices
- Working Knowledge on Teamcenter and Workflow processes.
- Good knowledge of manufacturing and assembly operations
- Good Problem-Solving Skills, Technical Know-how ability & Accountability
- Self-Motivated and ability to communicate effectively
Desired Qualifications:
- Preferably ASME Y14.5-2009 Senior or Technologist level Certified GD&T Professional
- Through knowledge of Corporate Product and Process Standards/Specifications
- Strong competency in Sheet metal design / Casting Design and manufacturing processes

Meticulously reviewing drawings to ensure all specifications and standards are met. This skill is crucial for maintaining high-quality standards and avoiding costly mistakes
Making informed decisions based on thorough analysis and evaluation of the drawings. This includes considering the short-term and long-term impacts of any changes or corrections
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviours. Level Working Knowledge:
Ability to write clear and concise reports, emails, and documentation is essential. This ensures that all stakeholders understand the findings and recommendations without ambiguity
Engaging in active listening helps in understanding the concerns and feedback from engineers, designers, and other team members. This skill is crucial for effective collaboration and problem-solving
Able to present findings and suggestions clearly during meetings or reviews is important. This includes the ability to use visual aids and explain complex technical details in an understandable way

2.Familiarity with 3D Software & PDM tools like Creo, CATIA, Teamcenter is essential for reviewing and modifying drawings accurately.
Understanding and applying standards such as ASME Y14.5-2018 for Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) ensures that drawings are consistent and meet industry requirements.
Ability to understand and interpret what and how engineering changes impact downstream
The ability to analyze complex drawings, identify potential issues, and suggest improvements, value additions is vital for preventing potential downstream issues
This position requires working onsite five days a week.
