Engineering Lead, Strategic Deals

Decagon Decagon · Vertical AI · San Francisco, CA · Engineering

Engineering Lead for Strategic Deals at Decagon, a conversational AI platform. This role involves owning the technical build of AI agents for large enterprise clients end-to-end, from POC to stabilization. Responsibilities include working with customers, leading a pod of engineers, productionizing solutions, and contributing to core product strategy. Requires strong engineering leadership and experience with customer-facing roles. Bonus for experience productionizing agentic systems.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own the technical build end-to-end for a handful of Strategic Deals, from POC through close and into post-close stabilization
  2. Drive technical requirements directly with the customer’s engineering and product leaders, and build technical champions inside their organizations
  3. Identify technical risks early and de-risk them before they threaten the deal
  4. Dig past feature requests to the underlying problem, then scope solutions that generalize, turning bespoke deal requirements into durable improvements to the core Decagon product
  5. Tech-lead a pod of 1–3 Software Engineers per deal: set technical direction, own delivery, and mentor the engineers on your team
