Engineering Maintenance Technician

Pfizer is seeking an Engineering Maintenance Technician in Dublin, Ireland, to manage maintenance and reliability engineering activities for utilities, buildings, and equipment. The role involves providing engineering support for project execution, operational support, reviewing work orders, conducting Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), ensuring calibration compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GxP), and assisting in the development of the Preventative Maintenance program. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma/Degree in an Engineering/Technical Discipline or Electrical/Mechanical Trade Qualification, 3+ years of experience, and strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems, with desirable experience in commissioning, qualification, start-up, and process automation systems.

What you'd actually do

  1. Contribute to completion of projects, manage own time to meet agreed targets, develop plans for short-term work activities on own projects.
  2. Provide engineering support to develop scope of work, project execution plans, and associated engineering studies for equipment and component installation, modification etc.
  3. Provide necessary operational support as needed.
  4. Review preventive and corrective work order activities and provide equipment maintenance history review.
  5. Manage technical writing and document review.

Skills

Required

  • Diploma/Degree in an Engineering/Technical Discipline or Electrical/Mechanical Trade Qualification
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Experience with Root Cause Failure Analysis PM/PdM optimization, and/or Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Current Good Manufacturing Practices {part of GxP}
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting capability across mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and logic diagrams.
  • Good computer literacy and documentation skills. Working knowledge of MS Excel

Nice to have

  • Experience with commissioning, qualification, start-up, and production support activities is desirable
  • Experience executing Engineering tasks using Engineering Maintenance Management systems such as EAMS.
  • Experience with process automation systems, PLC diagnostics, and instrumentation is desirable.

  • Relevant pharmaceutical experience
