The Excavation Division (EXD) Advanced Engineering team is hiring for Engineering Manager in Mossville, IL!
What You’ll Do (Job Duties)
- Lead system level DMEDI/NPI activities and support DMAIC/CPI activities.
- Gather requirements from external and internal customers, process partners, and regulatory teams.
- Create and manage detailed design documentation (systems, software, electronics, harness, iron)
- Drive hardware and software design requirements through the development, implementation, and validation process.
- Coordinate with numerous process partners in Cat Technology and within the EXD product group
- Travel to Caterpillar proving grounds or customer sites for test support when needed
- Identify areas of improvement for overall product quality
- Develop and maintain MGPP
- Mentor team members and develop skills to continue to deliver impactful features for our customers
What You Have (Core Skills)
- Degree requirement: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
- Managing People: Knowledge of processes involved in managing people; ability to lead successful teams and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace.
- **Collaborating Globally: **Knowledge of effective collaboration techniques and ability to build networks with people from different countries and cultures, think and work with them to bring positive impact and business results.
- Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
**Top Candidates Will Also Have **
- Demonstrates innovation, initiative, people development, and interpersonal skills.
- Possesses experience in design of electrical systems and/or wiring harnesses on machines or vehicles.
- Displays comprehensive knowledge of Caterpillar Inc.; its products and services; its internal systems, processes, and procedures; and a general understanding of Caterpillar’s external customers, competitors, and market influencers.

Summary Pay Range:
$147,760.00 - $221,640.00
