Engineering Manager, Agentic Workflows

Verkada · Enterprise · Bayoffice · Infrastructure/Platform

Engineering Manager to lead a new team building AI agents to automate engineering workflows like CI failure triage, autonomous deployments, and incident response, aiming to improve engineering velocity and developer experience across the company. The role involves defining the roadmap, building the team, and contributing to prototyping and development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Make every engineer more productive by eliminating repetitive workflows through AI agents
  2. Define and own the agent roadmap: what to automate, in what order, and how to measure success
  3. Build and lead a small, high-impact team of engineers
  4. Contribute hands-on to prototyping, coding, and unblocking technical challenges
  5. Establish evaluation frameworks for agent performance (golden tasks, regression sets, replay, LLM-as-judge)

Skills

Required

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience
  • 2+ years in engineering management
  • Proven experience shipping production systems
  • Strong hands-on coding ability in Python, Go, or TypeScript
  • Experience building systems that interact with APIs, tools, and external services
  • Demonstrated ability to define metrics and evaluate system performance rigorously
  • Experience writing clear technical design documents and driving alignment

Nice to have

  • Experience building or managing developer tooling or internal platforms
  • Familiarity with agent frameworks or orchestration systems
  • Experience in monorepo environments
  • Startup or early-stage team experience (0→1 or small team scaling)

What the JD emphasized

  • agentic or automation-heavy workflows
  • building systems that interact with APIs, tools, and external services
  • define metrics and evaluate system performance rigorously

Other signals
