Engineering Manager, Auth0 Fga Developer Platform

Okta is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the FGA Developer Tooling team in India. This team owns the end-to-end developer experience for FGA across OSS and SaaS, including SDKs, SDK generators, CLI workflows, IDE integrations, GitHub automation, developer documentation, and release strategy. The role involves leading and growing a team, driving the roadmap, ensuring high-quality developer experience, and fostering an open-source culture.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead and grow a team of engineers responsible for FGA SDKs, the SDK generator, CLI workflows, IDE integrations, and developer automation.
  2. Drive execution of the Developer Tooling roadmap in partnership with Product and FGA Core, ensuring alignment across OSS and SaaS surfaces and delivering meaningful improvements to developers on a frequent and predictable cadence.
  3. Oversee the evolution of the SDK generator and template framework to maintain cross language consistency, configurability, and long term maintainability.
  4. Ensure consistent and high quality implementation of SDK features including authentication flows, error handling, retry logic, rate limiting, and advanced capabilities such as BatchCheck and ListRelations.
  5. Establish and maintain strong engineering standards for testing, CI workflows, dependency management, release processes, and developer documentation.

Skills

Required

  • Experience managing software engineering teams delivering SDKs, platforms, or developer tooling.
  • Strong technical background and comfortable going deep into architecture and design discussions across multiple languages.
  • Experience working in or contributing to open source projects.
  • Experience managing geographically distributed teams.

  • Familiarity with code generation frameworks such as OpenAPI Generator and templating systems.
  • Experience working in open source development models and PR based workflows.
