What you'd actually do

  1. Manage Software Engineers working on Editors CSE, making sure they are executing well on their priorities, learning, and growing.
  2. Work with IC-TLs on the team to define the team's projects, timeline, and roadmap.
  3. Present and get buy-in on this from leadership and ensure good technical decisions are being made.
  4. Evaluate different projects, ordering, and prioritizations that would best improve team impact and developer productivity.
  5. Build relationships with partner teams and leads including Drive CSE, CSE Platform, CSE BLR, and other Editors teams in order to figure out how to most effectively meet our shared goals.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience in software development
  • 3 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role
  • 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role

Nice to have

  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization
  • Experience coding in one or more of the following languages: Java or JavaScript
  • Proficiency in creating technical design documents, facilitating design reviews, and leading execution of project implementation
  • Interest in and passion for docs, sheets, and slides products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
