Engineering Manager, Cloud Network Engineering

Netflix Netflix · Big Tech · United States · Remote · Engineering

Lead a team of software engineers responsible for delivering secure, performant, and reliable connectivity and reachability through policy-driven cloud governance and observability software. The team provides Layer2 - Layer4 networking solutions that ensure consistent network scalability and secure traffic management throughout the Netflix ecosystem by writing software that abstracts AWS primitives and the complexities of resilience, security, routing, and insights.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own the Tier 0 network governance layer that determines how every Netflix workload connects, from placement and addressing through security group policy and firewall enforcement.
  2. Build, scale, and mentor a cohesive team of amazing engineers.
  3. Form strong cross-functional partnerships driven by trust to achieve alignment with many engineering teams and ensure our solutions meet their needs, while maintaining our focus on agility, scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
  4. Build Netflix's network observability capability, evolving eBPF-based flow capture and IP topology into a full L3/L4 visibility platform that engineering teams use to understand, debug, and secure their traffic.
  5. Drive the transition from per-service network configuration to opinionated, policy-driven defaults, making the secure path the easy path for thousands of microservices without requiring each team to be a networking expert.
