Engineering Manager - Database Integrations

ClickHouse ClickHouse · Data AI · Integrations Engineering

Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for building and scaling data pipelines that connect ClickHouse to various data systems, including databases and data warehouses. The role involves end-to-end ownership of integrations, team leadership, technical design, and contributing to product vision and external representation.

What you'd actually do

  1. End-to-end responsibility for Database (such as Postgres, MongoDB) and data warehouse (such as BigQuery, Snowflake) integrations, including CDC, initial snapshots, schema evolution, backfills, and correctness at scale.
  2. Recruit, coach, and develop a high-bar team; set crisp expectations and foster a culture of ownership, speed, and continuous improvement.
  3. Jump into designs and code for complex flows (e.g., WAL/binlog/oplog handling, LSN/GTID management, idempotency/exactly-once behaviors, backpressure).
  4. Mentor and coach your team — provide regular feedback, create growth opportunities, and support advancement in technical and leadership skills, while fostering a healthy, inclusive environment built on empathy, psychological safety, trust, and a high technical bar.
  5. Build the culture of operational excellence: Own SLOs, reliability, on-call quality, and cost-efficiency for k8s-hosted, multi-tenant services across cloud regions.
