Engineering Manager for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Technical Infrastructure (TI) focused on defining and managing failure domains to ensure reliability and isolation for customer workloads. The role involves technical leadership, people management, system design, and ensuring programmatic integration with failure domain definitions.

What you'd actually do

  1. Set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organization's goals. Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams.
  2. Design, guide and vet systems designs within the scope of the broader area, and write product or system development code to solve ambiguous problems.
  3. Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  4. Provide APIs to enable GCP and TI Services to programmatically integrate with Failure domains to maintain physical and logical isolation for their TI/GCP services.
  5. Make it easy for the GCP customers to achieve verifiable zonal isolation/separation of their jobs and workload against GCP failures by ensuring that there is a well lit path and if following the standards, recommended deployment patterns holds true by default.
