Engineering Manager to lead the Identity and Access Management (IAM) team, focusing on authentication, authorization, and identity services for Databricks' data and AI platform. The role involves defining strategy, building and scaling a team, providing technical oversight for large-scale distributed systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, and attracting talent.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define and drive the strategy for IAM systems, including authentication and access control.
  2. Build and scale a high-performing engineering team focused on authentication, authorization, and identity management at cloud scale.
  3. Provide technical oversight on architecture and design for IAM components that can operate at massive scale, with high requirements for reliability, security, and performance.
  4. Partner with engineering and product leaders across Databricks to embed secure, scalable identity solutions into every aspect of our product.
  5. Ensure regulatory compliance and alignment with industry best practices for IAM, helping customers meet their own governance, privacy, and security needs.

Skills

Required

  • 9+ years of professional experience in software engineering
  • 2+ years of engineering leadership experience
  • Experience building large-scale distributed systems with high availability and security requirements
  • Strong track record building and managing high-performing teams
  • Proven success driving cross-functional security initiatives
  • Ability to provide technical direction at the architecture level
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field
