What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the team to achieve all New Product Introduction (NPI) deliverables including cost, velocity, reliability, and quality targets.
  2. Lead the team in Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) activities by addressing feedback from Product Support and Manufacturing.
  3. Drive collaboration with product development groups, value chain, manufacturing, commercial, and product support.
  4. Daily coaching and mentoring; motivating and developing project team and team members.
  5. Provide leadership for design reviews and conformance to design guidelines and best practices.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering curriculum with progressive engineering and product development experience.
  • Progressive engineering and product development experience.
  • Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
  • Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Knowledge of processes involved in managing people; ability to lead successful teams and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace.
  • Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.
