Boeing is seeking an Engineering Manager for Mechanical, Interiors & Structures in Chennai. This role involves leading design engineering teams for interior design in payloads/modifications, developing project plans, managing resources, establishing engineering processes, and partnering with internal/external stakeholders. The position requires strong technical knowledge of certification processes and airplane interior systems, project management skills, and the ability to resolve complex technical problems.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead Design Engineering teams for interior design in payloads/modifications portfolio for BCA/BGS, in support of various programs.
  2. Develop project or operational plans aligned with functional and program objectives. Implement plans to ensure business, technical and customer requirements are achieved. Assign authority and responsibilities to employees to execute the plan. Reviews plans' execution, makes appropriate adjustments, and resolves issues. Monitors appropriate metrics to ensure performance to plan.
  3. Forecasts resource needs and make hiring decisions. Coaches, counsels, mentors and provides developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities. Ensure employees are working effectively with all development teams. Provides on-going developmental feedback and conducts performance reviews. Enforces company rules and policies regarding ethical behavior, safety, security, use of company property, time charging, etc.
  4. Establish Engineering process as per Boeing and aerospace standards. Ensure they are documented and followed by the teams to meet the Process compliance.
  5. Partner and engage with internal and external stakeholders, maintain relationships/partnerships with internal customers, peers and partners to develop strategies, goals and objectives that are consistent with the organization’s strategy. The position will be pivotal in creating and maintaining relationships with the Global teams and working closely with those stakeholders in planning and forecasting activities of the team as well as reporting requirements from stakeholders.
