Stripe is seeking an Engineering Manager for their Payment Intelligence team. This role focuses on leading a team to build ML-driven products that optimize payment conversion rates, minimize costs, and manage fraud for merchants. The manager will be responsible for end-to-end product delivery, technical mentorship, team leadership, recruiting, and contributing to engineering-wide initiatives. The role requires strong technical acumen, cross-functional collaboration, and experience managing teams that have shipped high-quality products.

What you'd actually do

  1. Enable the team to work with a wide range of systems, processes, and technologies to own and solve problems from end-to-end.
  2. Support the engineering team in building experiences for businesses that range from high growth startups to leading global companies providing them with the tools so they can run their business
  3. Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization such as product, design, infrastructure, marketing and operations.
  4. Lead and manage processes to help the team do its best work and engage effectively with the rest of Stripe.
  5. Recruit great engineers, in collaboration with Stripe’s recruiting team

Skills

Required

  • At least 5 years of experience managing teams that shipped high-quality products
  • An entrepreneurial mindset
  • Successfully recruited and built great teams
  • Works effectively cross-functionally and is able to think rigorously, communicate effectively, and make or coordinate hard decisions and trade-offs
  • Thrives with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility in an ambiguous environment
