Persistent Disk (PD) provides mission-critical block storage solutions to tens of thousands of enterprises affecting millions of users, and manages exabytes of data. It is a vital component of Google Cloud: every GCE VM relies on disks provided by PD. PD is also critical to many higher-level services like GKE, CloudSql, Cloud Filestore, etc.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $207,000-$300,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Manage a 10+ person engineering team, taking full responsibility for coaching, performance management, and career growth.
- Guide the team in designing, creating, and deploying a scalable PD IO stack.
- Collaborate closely with and influence cross-functional leaders across PD and GCE.
- Lead organizational efforts to work on ambiguous problems, translating undefined challenges into concrete, executable solutions.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures and algorithms.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role, overseeing projects.
- 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in one or more of the following: storage, compute, networking, high performance computing, or internal tools and infrastructure management.
