Google is seeking an Engineering Manager for Serverless Networking Infrastructure. This role involves technical leadership, team management, and developing roadmaps for large-scale projects in areas like distributed computing and networking. The team provides serving infrastructure, runtimes, and developer tooling for Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and App Engine, with a focus on connectivity and security solutions for serverless applications, including support for agentic workloads.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop the mid-term technical goals and roadmap within the scope of your (often multiple) team(s). Evolve the roadmap to meet anticipated future requirements and infrastructure needs.
  2. Design, guide and vet systems designs within the scope of the broader area, and write product or system development code to solve ambiguous problems.
  3. Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  4. Plan the roadmap for key network infrastructure initiatives
  5. Work with cross functional partners across Serverless and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to deliver cross-team projects and work with customers to help find solutions to their blocking issues.
