Engineering Project Leader

Caterpillar is seeking an experienced Engineering Project Leader to join the Drivetrain Controls System Simulation and Validation (DCSSV) organization to support Caterpillar machines with electrohydraulic brakes. This role provides project leadership and ownership for lower powertrain brake controls solutions, leading cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, robust solutions that meet both customer and enterprise objectives.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the newly formed Drivetrain Brake Mechatronics team, focused on aligning machine programs with technology program requirements for lower powertrain systems.
  2. Lead the design, development, implementation, and validation of drivetrain control software and algorithms supporting lower powertrain brake systems.
  3. Provide project ownership and long-term stewardship of legacy business technologies, ensuring reliability, compliance, and continued value to the enterprise.
  4. Apply systems engineering principles to balance performance, durability, robustness, cost, and maintenance capability across brake controls solutions.
  5. Effectively collaborate with the machine teams to evaluate and determine design selections, verification activities, and validation efforts.
